Clubrestaurant House of Wine

New building

The operator of several restaurants in the Basel area commissioned Gruner AG to construct a new building for wine storage. The storage facilities comprise 450 m2 of refrigerated space, which is kept at a constant temperature of 14°C and conditioned to around 70% relative humidity. The operating concept envisages operating the building as a club, to which every club member has 24-hour access. In addition, members are offered various services, such as ordering wine at special rates.

In addition to the professional storage of wine under optimal conditions and the opportunity to consume wine at normal temperatures, the building also serves as a venue for wine tastings and lectures. The new building can also be hired for private and corporate events with or without catering.

We took on the comprehensive general planning and coordinated all project phases. Our team of architects designed functional and aesthetic solutions, while we carried out the construction management to ensure a smooth realisation. We also monitored the cost planning to ensure that the project remained within budget. Our civil engineers ensured stable and safe structures, and we developed customised fire protection concepts for maximum safety. Finally, our experts optimised the building physics for energy efficiency and comfort.
