As part of the cluster project ‘2018 Line 469 Brienz-Interlaken Ost’, the repair of ten bridges was initiated within two months for Zentralbahn AG. The bridges are either of the natural stone bridge or bridge slab type. The two viaducts are 50 and 150 metres long in total. The bridge slabs each have a span of between 6 and 12 metres.
In addition, the existing ballast trough had to be demolished while maintaining the original abutments and arches made of natural stone masonry. New concrete ballast troughs including waterproofing (PBD, UHFB), ballast mat and ballast were constructed. The bridge superstructure itself is an element construction. The drainage system had to be completely replaced and the natural stone masonry had to be rehabilitated.
Gruner's services for this project were limited to SIA phases 32 to 53. We were responsible for the overall project, superstructure and local construction management. We also took care of the project planning.
