The Gellertstrasse bridge in Basel, which crosses the motorway and railway lines, needs to be replaced. As part of this project, Gruner AG was commissioned to carry out a precise survey of the existing bridge and the surrounding terrain. This serves the project planning of both a possible auxiliary bridge and the new construction of the bridge.
In order to create a realistic basis for the construction of the new bridge, comprehensive terrain surveys and a detailed surface survey were carried out. This made it possible to create an exact model of the current situation. In the course of the surveying work, all relevant elements of the terrain were recorded, including existing stairs, noise barriers, walls, trees and path passerelles. In addition, the existing bridge columns including the auxiliary steel supports, the motorway and railway lines, the SBB overhead lines and a Swisscom ELT tunnel were recorded.
The survey results meet the requirements of three-dimensional project planning. This data is made available to the project team in the form of a 3D survey model to enable precise planning and realisation of the new bridge construction. The use of this precise surveying data ensures that the new bridge can be optimally adapted to the current conditions.
