Gruner was instrumental in the renovation and optimization of the Reuss weir system in Lucerne, Switzerland. Our engineering expertise was pivotal in constructing a new needle weir and side weir, as well as in lowering the Reuss riverbed to enhance drainage conditions. Additionally, our team ensured the stabilization of the bank walls and the preservation of the old centre island.
Gruner's comprehensive services in this project included (in engineering consortium):
- Simulation calculations for the discharge
- Flood analyses
- Variant studies for the preservation of the needle weir system
- Construction project and submission project with cost estimate
- Various studies regarding design measures
