Baloise Park, Basel

The Baloise insurance group is building the "Baloise Park" directly next to the SBB railway station by 2020. The new ensemble consists of a hotel tower, two office buildings and a public park. Building plot A, with its hotel tower of 89 m in height, is the tallest building. Site B is the new Baloise headquarters. Although at 34 m high it is the smallest of the three buildings, the sophisticated external fair-faced concrete façade of the eight-storey building radiates representativeness. Beneath the public square of construction field F, there is a ballroom with a column-free area of 24 m x 33 m next to parking halls. The 24 m span width is bridged with prestressed in-situ concrete beams. All buildings are based on floor slabs up to 2 m thick.
