The project consists of the extension of the track system at Zurich-Oerlikon train station to include platforms 7 and 8, the complete adaptation of the associated traffic routes and the new construction of the underground shopping centre. The challenges of the project lie in the large number of people involved and the limited space available. The most important tasks of the environmental construction supervision and technical excavation supervision include
- Air pollution control during construction transport and on the construction site itself (checking particle filters, dust control)
- Water protection (storage of water-polluting substances, wastewater treatment, groundwater retention)
- Excavation support for contaminated subsoil (contaminated sites), disposal and utilisation of excavated material
- Track ballast sampling
- Noise protection (resident information, construction noise guidelines)
Our services are limited to the SIA sub-phases 32-53. In addition to the environmental construction supervision, we have also taken on the accompanying landscape conservation planning including the maintenance and success control concept and the technical excavation supervision. We also prepared an environmental impact report and took care of the tendering process.
