The Heidelberg University Hospital builds a state-of-the-art maximum care clinic in Neuenheimer Feld. The project includes the construction of 19 operating rooms, including two hybrid ORs, as well as specialized departments for visceral and transplant surgery, cardiovascular surgery, urology, and anesthesiology. Additionally, there are 56 beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 56 beds in the intermediate care unit (IMC). The building also houses radiology, an emergency department, research areas, laboratories, and a lecture hall with 196 seats.
Another highlight is the connection to the clinic ring and the expansion of the existing entrance hall. A new ambulance entrance, a helicopter roof landing pad, a central steam supply, and an expanded water treatment system will also be installed. Additionally, the building is connected to the district heating and cooling network.
