Gurtenfestival Bern

What began as a small folk festival in 1977 is now one of the largest and most popular music festivals in Switzerland. Each year, 80,000 visitors come together on the Gurten near Bern to celebrate the music of our times in this unique atmosphere. Top international acts from all genres of music and local heroes from Bern's traditional music scene meet an audience that enthusiastically celebrates from the first to the last note—in a peacefully frenetic atmosphere that is second to none in the world. All of this takes place against the breathtaking backdrop of the view over the city of Bern, the Aare, and the mountain panorama. While a trade fair atmosphere or shopping mall vibes spread elsewhere, the Gurtenfestival has remained a music festival: a carefully curated program, enthusiastic visitors, musicians in top form, parties lasting all night, and goosebump moments that last a lifetime.
