Olympus Europa Campus, Hamburg

Since 2016, a new company headquarters of the optics expert Olympus has been under construction in Hamburg. The new building contains modern office facilities with co-working spaces, a two-storey lobby, laboratories and a three-storey underground car park. The building is classified as a high-rise building.

The Gruner Business Unit Fire Protection, Building Physics Germany is involved in the new construction of the Olympus Europa Campus in Hamburg with the following services:

• Fire protection concept
• Consulting in LP 5
• Calibrated hot smoke tests
• Object monitoring in the LP 8
• Organizational fire protection
• Processing of the project with Building Information Modeling (BIM)

In the latter case, the BIM method established in professional circles is used. However, this example shows why fire safety planners are still not superfluous, as project manager and contact person Ole Matthiesen illustrates in his article "Brandschutz im Modell" (in German).
