Innovative School Space Expansion in Langendorf

Focusing on Modernization and Energy Efficiency

The municipality of Langendorf was forced to take action in the area of school space with regard to the expansion and maintenance of the existing school facilities. This had to be brought into line with the financial requirements of the municipality. To this end, a new extension with 8 classrooms and a kindergarten was provided. The need for a modern double gymnasium was met with a new replacement building. In addition, the existing single gymnasium was renovated so that it could continue to be used.

Heat is supplied via the site's own local heating network and is supplemented by a photovoltaic system in order to compensate for as much of the electrical energy from the ventilation process as possible.

The buildings are heated via radiators in the parapet area of the windows with valves. This allows users to intervene individually and can be used as an educational tool to save energy during lessons.

The building is equipped with highly efficient lights. Motion detectors will be used in the corridors, entrance areas and the foyers and wet rooms to achieve the highest energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the lighting.
The school premises are equipped with a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery. A separate ventilation system is planned for the gymnasium.
