The Togo - Bénin interconnection line will connect the towns of Bembèrèkè, Kandi and Malanville through a new 218 km 161 kV single circuit transmission line. During preliminary studies, a site suitable to build a new 330/161/33/20 kV substation was identified in Malanville.
A new substation 161/33/20 kV will be built in Kandi city. The current 161/33/20 kV substation of Bembèrèkè will be reorganised in order to erect two 161 kV line bays and two 161/33/20 kV transformer bays. The existing transmission line between Parakou and Bembèrèkè is already built in 161 kV but operates at 33 kV. An extension of the Parakou substation will be constructed in order to use it under 161 kV.
A second 161 kV interconnection transmission line of 140 km in length will be built between Lomé and Atakpamé in Togo. Extension works will be carried out to at the Lome C (Davie) and Atakpamé substations. A new 161/33/20 kV substation will be built in Notsé in order to connect the town to the transmission line.
