The Balgrist Campus, which opens at the end of 2015, will tackle the challenges of musculoskeletal health in a comprehensive way by bringing together research groups from the fields of muscles, biomechanics, robotics, tumours and metastases, paraplegia and clinical orthopaedics to pool their knowledge and jointly develop state-of-the-art therapeutic approaches.
The Swiss Centre for Musculoskeletal Biobanking (SCMB) is a platform for the analysis, indexing and archiving of anonymous tissue samples. The Swiss Centre for Musculoskeletal Imaging (SCMI) is a diagnostic imaging platform for the musculoskeletal system with state-of-the-art modalities, including a unique 7-Tesla MRI. It is used for imaging everything from molecular structures to moving people.
The Swiss Centre for Clinical Movement Analysis (SCMA) is used for functional movement analysis. It comprises the most modern acquisition and evaluation technologies for the quantitative analysis of movement sequences.
