Electromechanical Engineer for Hydroelectric Power Plants (Renens, Zurich, Paris, or Milan)
Activities & Responsibilities
Expertise in electromechanical equipment for hydroelectric power plants (generators, electrical auxiliaries, power transformers, control systems, instrumentation, etc.) within the framework of hydroelectric power plant construction and rehabilitation projects in Switzerland and abroad. Specific knowledge of electromechanical equipment for variable-speed pumped-storage plants is an asset.- Draft technical methodologies and technical documents (specifications, contracts).
- Evaluate the technical and commercial proposals from manufacturers (quality, cost, deadlines).
- Verify the design studies and details provided by manufacturers (drawings, calculations).
- Participate in factory acceptance tests and validate compliance before shipment.
- Conduct on-site inspections throughout project phases (from feasibility to commissioning, SIA phases 21 to 53).
- Review operation and maintenance documents and prepare reports with recommendations.
- Revise project schedules, monitor progress, and suggest optimizations.
- Organize project meetings and draft minutes.
- Manage technical non-conformities and claims.
- Coordinate with internal and external project stakeholders.
Requirements profile
- HES or EPF Engineering degree in electromechanics, at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in electromechanical equipment for power plants.
- Proficiency in English, as well as French or German, both written and spoken.
- Autonomy, rigor, and the ability to anticipate task management needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both specialists and non-specialists.
- Ability to work and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Availability for short-term travel abroad (Africa, Central Asia, etc.).
