Beznau power plant

Gruner, as a recognized radon measurement center, carried out a radon survey of workplaces in the winter of 2023/2024. The rooms to be measured in the Beznau power plant were not considered to be radon-exposed workplaces and were therefore subject to the measurement protocol of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) for radon measurements in workplaces. According to the measurement protocol, the dosimeters must be installed and uninstalled personally on site by the recognized measuring center. The dosimeters were exposed for 90 days during the heating period and the annual average was then calculated based on the dose.

The following services were provided as part of the approved radon measurement:

• Radon measurement concept
• Installation of a total of 40 approved radon dosimeters in 9 different buildings
• Entry of the measured building into the FOPH's national radon database
• Removal of the radon dosimeters approx. 90 days after installation
• Shipment of the exposed radon dosimeters for analysis
• Evaluation and interpretation of the results, including the preparation of a measurement report
