Beausite overpass, Chardonne (VD)

The Beausite overpass is a pre-stressed concrete bridge over the N09 freeway with a length of 40m, a width of 13m and a height of apprximately 8m. It consists of a hollow-core concrete slab composed of 2 spans. The static verifications were conducted by Gruner Stucky Ltd. The works carried out were:

• Campaign of field investigations to determine the condition of the structure
• Hydrodemolition and reconstruction of new reinforced concrete curbs
• Reinforcement of the deck at the cantilever
• Replacement of guardrails and railings
• Replacement of pavement joints
• Rehabilitation of the degraded concrete of the deck, abutments and central pier
• Repair of the supports
• Replacement of the waterproofing and the bituminous coating with mastic asphalt

One half of the bridge was kept in operation during the works.
