Content
This training course is based on the internationally recognized buildingSMART Professional Certification Program.
It provides insights into national and international standards and guidelines (SIA, ISO19650, openBIM standards), key BIM terminology, documents such as the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) as well as BIM roles and responsibilities, and the Common Data Environment (CDE).
BIM Methodology Training - Foundation aims to provide a common understanding and basic knowledge of BIM methodology.
The content material has been developed to reflect today’s status and needs within the AEC market, addressing real project examples and client specifications.
Training Syllabus Highlights
Day 1
- Understand the definition, key terminologies, and benefits of BIM (BIM Dimensions; Project Information Model; Information management maturity stages; VDC)
- Recognize the advantages of BIM compared to traditional project delivery (Standards / Guidelines: SIA, ISO 19650 series; benefits of BIM for design and construction professionals as well as for facility owners and operators)
Day 2
- Understand Project Information Management, with BIM, according to ISO 19650 series (Documents: OIR, AIR, PIR, EIR, BEP; CDE; Roles & Responsibilities)
- Recognize the need for open and interoperable solutions (OpenBIM definition; buildingSmart International Standards; IFC, BCF, MVD, bsDD)
- Understand the terms and measures of BIM capability within an organization (Implementing BIM in the company - BIM Maturity; Change Management; Data Security)
buildingSMART professional certification – Exam (optional)
Upon completion of the training course, participants will have the opportunity to obtain a buildingSMART professional certification (Foundation level), which is internationally recognized. This can be achieved by taking an optional exam consisting of 25 randomly generated multiple-choice questions. Participants also have the option to retake the exam if necessary.
The exam preparation materials, which cover all the essential knowledge, will be sent to you via email two weeks before the course dates. It is highly recommended that you review these comprehensive training materials in advance of the course start date. By doing so, you will ensure that you are well-prepared and confident for the exam.
